Senate President Godswill Akpabio congratulated Ms Abubakar-Sadiq and expressed confidence in her ability to strengthen Nigeria’s electoral system.
According to the senator, Mr Tinubu has shown a strong commitment to repositioning the country through various reforms since assuming office.
Mr Oshiomhole, said the National Assembly would not appropriate funds for the commission in the 2026 budget.
Mr Odo noted that all senators were invited to attend the emergency plenary.
Mr Akpabio announced this after Mr Bamidele requested that senators be allowed to take copies of the report home for a detailed clause-by-clause study.
The Senate thereafter observed a one-minute silence in honour of the victims.

The Senate leader assured Nigerians that the upper chamber will consider the bills immediately after Eid-El-Fitir and Easter holidays.
“Let it be unequivocally stated that Senator Uduaghan was suspended solely for her persistent act of misconduct,” said the Senate.
Nigerians have criticised the Senate for suspending Mrs Akpoti-Uduaghan without looking into the substance of her petition.
