OAU has directed that academic activities should resume, following the expiration of a three-week mid-semester break the institution earlier declared.
The management enjoined parents and guardians to take note of the latest development.
According to Mr Olarewaju, the student passed away despite immediate remedial efforts.
“Today, the Obafemi Awolowo University community celebrates a true titan of academic leadership, Professor Roger Makanjuola, on his 80th birthday,” the school stated.
According to him, his administration will continue to give priority to revitalising the education sector.
The ASUU chairman said that the union was fighting for its rights, having tried enough to dialogue with the government.
The registrar stated that people were not gathering to celebrate Mr Olawuyi’s death “but his heroism.”
“The association bemoans the continued marginalisation of South-West Muslims by denying them access to political offices,” said UNIFEMGA.
