The Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, has notified the Netherlands about the federal government’s gazette recognising and vesting custody and managing repatriated looted Benin artefacts in him.
The dukes are the first set of hereditary titles of Enigie that had been inducted since the past six years when the Oba ascended the throne.
The Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, has commended three U.S. museums for the repatriation of 31 Benin Bronze artefacts stolen by British forces in 1897.
During CBAAC’s visit to his palace on Thursday, Oba Ewuare assured of his support for the festival.
