The two members who lost their lives in active service were Okechukwu Okoye and Nnamdi Okafor, who represented Aguata Constituency l and Awka South Constituency l, respectively.
“It is sad that since his death, we have not heard from the assembly. All we want is justice for the death of our brother.”
The Anambra State House of Assembly said it had passed 40 bills into law and over 100 resolutions in the last three years.
Gunmen had on May 15 abducted a member of the assembly, Okechukwu Okoye, who was confirmed dead by the police on May 21.
The group said it received the news of the “brutal and insensate” beheading of the lawmaker with shock and disbelief.
The Speaker, on behalf of other state lawmakers, then commiserated with the immediate family of late Okoye.
Messrs Okoye and Chiegboka were abducted on May 15, and their heads discovered around Chisco park junction in Amichi, Nnewi South LGA on Saturday.
“My government is doing everything possible in collaboration with security agencies to restore peace and security to the state in accordance with the law.”
The police command in Anambra has confirmed the kidnapping of Okechukwu Okoye, a lawmaker representing Aguata Constituency 1 in the house of assembly.
