Mr Osiyemi expressed concern over increasing cases of improper waste disposal by residents.
Mr Osiyemi urged motorists to make use of alternative routes during the closure.
He urged motorists to obey traffic signs and follow directives from traffic officials.
Mr Osiyemi said the government had introduced several programmes aimed at cutting emissions.Â

The closure will affect the stretch between Apongbon and Ijora Olopa.
According to him, concealed number plates create security concerns and weaken accountability.
Mr Osiyemi said the reconstruction and expansion work would span from Ojodu-Berger Bus-Stop to Mobil Filling Station Junction.
Mr Osiyemi said the repairs would commence with the service lane, and scheduled to run for six weeks, starting from February 5 to March 19.
Assuring motorists of adequate traffic management during the rehabilitation work, the commissioner said that at no stage would the bridge be fully closed.
