The Lagos government has vowed to prosecute attackers of VIO personnel.
The commissioner urged motorists to follow officers’ directives to ensure smooth traffic flow and avoid unnecessary congestion.
Mr Osiyemi pointed out that the road would be fully reopened to traffic on Monday, Aug. 18.
According to Mr Osiyemi, any vehicle found unsuitable will not be allowed to operate on Lagos roads.
Mr Osiyemi said the repair, earlier postponed, would begin on June 28 and end on October 15.
The commissioner said the e-callup system will help regulate truck movement through structured scheduling, reducing chaos on the roads.
The event, held on Wednesday in Lagos, was organised by Mofe Foundation in partnership with the National Association of Polytechnic Students.
Mr Osiyemi said a new date for the repair works and traffic diversion would be announced.

Mr Osiyemi assured that the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority officers would be on ground to minimise inconvenience and manage traffic flow.
