The source said troops ambushed terrorists along the Meleri–Ngirbua axis in the Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe at about 5:30 a.m. on January 4.

Mr Ejodame said the operation was conducted on Monday.
The troops said the airstrikes led “to the reduction in terrorism and other forms of cross-border crimes perpetrated by criminals crisis-crossing the borders to evade justice.”
He said the air component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) executed airstrikes near Arina Woje on Friday.
According to Mr Yahaya, the insurgents and terrorists no longer have freedom of action.
The commander described the policy as a positive step, adding that it has mitigated terrorists’ activities since its inception.
