Mr Ejodame said the airstrike was conducted at about 1205 hours on April 1 by the air component of the Joint Task Force North East.
In the South-South, he said troops of Operation Delta Safe sustained anti-oil theft operations.
The escapees were abducted during an attack on the Ngoshe community earlier in the month.
According to a daily operational report on Wednesday, the military said the suspects were intercepted while travelling towards the location to deliver goods to the terrorists.
The report described the outcome as a major setback for insurgent operations in the axis.Â
