Mr Okechukwu said Mr Abubakar did not have the interest and unity of Nigeria at heart if he decided to contest against the turn of the south.
He gave his backing shortly after Mohammed Shehu, the chairman of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, announced the proposal.
The former director-general of the Voice of Nigeria, Osita Okechukwu, says Governor Peter Mbah is welcome to join the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Mr Okechukwu pointed out that poor teacher quality inevitably results in poor student performance, threatening national development.
Mr Okechukwu described as misplaced the notion that the ruling APC was the architect of the emerging one-party.
Mr Okechukwu described the 16 years of PDP rule as full of squandering and lack of planning.
He described Nigerians as good followers.
“What salvation do we earn when careful consideration shows that the majority of our dear governors are more or less akin to emperors?’’
“I am happy that President Tinubu has vindicated some of us that he will not abandon the South-East.’’
Mr Okechukwu noted that it would be pure hope renewal if Mr Tinubu maintained the anti-graft-war momentum.
