Mr Makinde announced his presidential bid at a joint mega rally of the Taminu Turaki-led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Ibadan on Thursday.
The APC said by the comment Mr Makinde showed himself unworthy of the high office of governor he occupies.
The decision followed Mr Kwankwaso’s series of engagements with ADC stakeholders and other opposition figures in recent weeks.
Messrs Abubakar and Makinde were hosted on Tuesday by retired military general Ibrahim Babangida at his Minna hilltop residence.
Mr Makinde said the intervention would include accommodation for students and lecturers, an IT centre, a healthcare centre, and buses to ease mobility.
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde on Monday presented a proposed N891.99 billion appropriation bill for 2026 to the state’s House of Assembly.
The coalition party said the Tinubu administration is an anti-democratic government doing all it can to impose a one-party state on Nigeria.
Mr Makinde said that his administration would restructure the market and ensure proper architecture to avert recurrence.
Mr Makinde congratulated the Muslim faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan 2025.
Mr Makinde approved the suspension “in exercise of the powers conferred on him.”
