PDP national publicity secretary, Debo Ologunagba, on Saturday in Abuja, said Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State would chair the committee.
He said the ruling party has instead committed Nigeria “to the mercies of foreign interests and market forces.”
PDP has asked Hudu Arim, INEC’s resident electoral commissioner in Adamawa, to recuse himself from conducting the April 15 rerun governorship election.
Mr Ologunagba said that the NWC took the decision after extensive deliberation on issues relating to the Katsina State chapter of the party.
“The PDP is therefore on course and we are determined to pursue the case to its logical conclusion.”
The PDP had earlier demanded the resignation of Mr Yakubu.
The now reinstated party members in Ekiti State are Funso Ayeni and Ajayi Samuel.
The suspension was ratified by the PDP National Working Committee after an emergency meeting on Friday in Abuja.
The opposition party insists the Buhari regime has the capacity to ensure peace and adequate security for the November 6 governorship election in Anambra.
The opposition party said Mr Matawalle’s confession showed that the ruling party is responsible for banditry and other insecurity in the country.
