PDP commiserates with Gov. Makinde over brother’s death

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Friday, commiserated with Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo over the death of his elder brother, Sunday Makinde.
PDP national publicity secretary, Debo Ologunagba, in a statement in Abuja on Friday, said the nation and Oyo state had lost a rare gem with the demise of Mr Makinde.
Mr Ologunagba described the deceased as a humble, exceptionally brilliant and highly ingenious professional.
He said that as a committed patriot, the deceased dedicated his life towards the progress and development of Oyo state and Nigeria.
“Makinde was a courageous and forthright gentleman, full of vision, realistic ideas, practical solutions and lived as a dependable pillar of support and counsellor to his brother, Seyi Makinde, in his service to the people of Oyo State and our dear fatherland.
“It is indeed devastating that Sunday Makinde left the stage at this trying time in the history of our nation when his skills and wealth of experience are needed the most,” he said.
Mr Ologunagba said that the PDP’s prayers and thoughts were with Mr Makinde, the widow and the entire Makinde family.
He also said the party was with the government and the people of Oyo state at this moment of grief.
He prayed the Almighty God to grant peaceful repose to his brother’s soul and fortitude to Mr Makinde and the entire Makinde family to bear the loss.
