Mr Akerele said the corridor was notorious for criminal activities, including robbery, cultism, drug peddling, illegal brothels, and stoning of moving trains.
Mr Abdulraheem said the operation, carried out between Sunday night and Monday morning, was done in response to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s directive.
Armed security agents, mostly police officers, mounted roadblocks along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, Agege Motor roads, Ipaja road, Pen Cinema and other areas.
“More than 20 police stations were burnt in the state during the EndSARS protests in October 2020.”
