The REC said INEC was fully aware of its duty to conduct a free and fair election and had put proactive measures in place to actualise this.
The Ondo state governorship election will be held on November 16, 2024.
INEC has extended the collection of PVCs to September 15 in Edo, preparatory to the state’s governorship election on September 21.
“There is no PVC collection by proxy,” Mr Wariowei said.

Ms Babalola said there were 1,991,344 registered voters in the state as of the last gubernatorial election in 2020, and 1,729,641 collected their PVCs.
According to him, the election process has been peaceful and smooth from the point of accreditation and voting.
“We have 140,377 registered voters in the affected constituency while those who have collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) are 121,111.”
The tribunal set aside the Certificate of Return issued to Mr Gana and ordered a supplementary election in the 26 polling units within 90 days.
He assured that Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines to be used on Saturday were already configured and fully charged.
