APC has claimed Mr Obi is a “prophet of doom” and “voodoo economist” and accused him of “shooting from the hip.”
An aide said the Nigerian leader engaged PR firms after evaluating the impact widespread coverage of his narcotics and diploma mess had on his prestige before his foreign peers.
He said the situation worsened following Mr Tinubu’s infamous “fuel subsidy is gone” declaration. Â
“But I’ve made up my mind that if this is the end, so be it,” Mr Obi asserted.
The party described Mr Obi’s claims as misleading and an attempt to score cheap political points.
Mr Tinubu has declared his ambitious goal to reduce inflation from 34 per cent to 15 per cent in 2025.
Mr Obi lamented rising insecurity, corruption, poverty, and inflation under Mr Tinubu’s administration.
Nigerians have lamented economic hardship since Mr Tinubu assumed office.
Mr Obi said, “Such an anomaly does not even make for even development and peace that is needed for progress in the country.”
