Counsel for Messrs Tinubu and Shettima, Wole Olanipekun, SAN, said they were closing their case after the testimony of their sole witness.
Mr Bamidele, a politician from Ekiti and long-time protege of Mr Tinubu’s, was at the election petitions tribunal in Abuja to give testimony against Peter Obi and Labour Party.
The witness, also newly appointed Senate majority leader Bamidele Opeyemi, told the court that Mr Obi was a member of the PDP in Anambra State until May 25, 2022.
Counsel to Messrs Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat, Bode Olanipekun (SAN), also commended the petitioner for closing his case.
“It should be noted that a relatively large number of these new followers are suspicious accounts, used to create a false impression of support.”
He added that he and his group are currently disputing the results of the election that made Mr Tinubu president.
Justice James Omotosho, in a judgement, held that Mr Nnamani was not given fair hearing in accordance with the PDP’s constitution.
The electoral chief’s admission came when he appeared before the presidential election petitions tribunal in Abuja on Monday.
No society that brazenly starves and robs its poor to enrich its rich should expect to make progress or enjoy peace.
This is contrary to the commission’s pledge ahead of the election that results would be uploaded from polling units as soon as voting ended on election day.
