President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Afam Osigwe, says he will intensify advocacy for preserving the rule of law and human rights in 2025.
“The last two weeks have been a difficult time for us, a country where Kenyans have lost their lives, many injured, and property destroyed,” said Mr Ruto.
On Friday, President William Ruto took a decisive step, scrapping the budget for the offices of Kenya’s first and second ladies after nationwide protests.
“The parliament has been burnt. City Hall has been burnt. We have 19 people dead,” Mr Ruto said.
Commissioner of police in the state, Onuoha Bertrand, issued the warning in Lokoja.
“Normalcy has been restored in the community and the commissioner of police has ordered the deployment of more police operatives in the community.”
The ban was announced in a statement issued by the police spokesman in the state, DSP Sani Kamilu.
“The oil thieves absconded, abandoning their truck and tools, upon sighting police officers who responded swiftly when notified,” he said.
“This is unpolice. I don’t think a normal human being can do this. To crush a man with a car? This is unbelievable.”
According to him, the suspect, in a written statement during police interview, freely admitted to having committed the fraud and several others dating back to 2021.
