Edo: Police officers handcuff man, run over him
In yet another episode of police brutality in Nigeria, officers in Edo handcuffed a man and ran over him with a vehicle.
The disturbing video of a man in a torn white singlet cuffed, lying on the road as passersby tried to intervene to prevent police officers in a Sienna bus from running over him emerged on Twitter in the early hours of Friday.
Police spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi confirmed the incident.
“This is unpolice. I don’t think a normal human being can do this. To crush a man with a car? This is unbelievable. I have personally contacted the CP Edo on this. We need to take urgent action on the matter. It’s strange to me as a person,” Mr Adejobi tweeted on Friday.
