The police command in Lagos says the physical and credential screening exercise for applicants in the 2025/2026 recruitment into the force will commence on Monday.
Police commissioner Ikioye Orutugu says combat and armed drills among newly trained personnel will ensure decisive, lawful responses to emerging threats in Anambra.
“We face a unique challenge in achieving our state’s food security,” the governor added.
“We have also improved many existing schools, completing over 1,500 projects that include building, renovating, and providing new furniture,” Mr Sanwo-Olu said.
The 7,000 personnel drawn from all the local government areas of the state, are being trained at the Police College, Kaduna.
He particularly expressed worry at the sudden influx of the herders whom he said “always masquerades in different forms” to enter the state.

Mr Baba-Alkali urged staff of the college to take their assignment with the interest and passion required in any duty post.
They are those who applied and succeeded to be enlisted in the 10,000 recruits per state for 2021.
The substations controlling the affected areas will be switched off from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. everyday.
