The IMPI chairman also urged state governments to ensure that various communities and stakeholders were involved in security matters in their respective domains.
Mr Ojelabi added that those injured in the incidents had been evacuated by the police to medical facilities for treatment.
“The Command wishes to assure the good people of Akwa Ibom State that there is no cause for alarm,” he said.
“The purported victim was also found to have actively participated in the orchestration of the fake abduction,” the command said.
He emphasised that elevation in the force was not a licence for arrogance.
The enforcement operation targets unmarked vehicles, fake or obscured number plates, and the unauthorised covering of vehicle plates.
The gunmen attacked two immigration officers at about 8:45 p.m.
He said 46 capsules of Tramadol, 12 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, and two D5 tablets were recovered from the suspects.
He congratulated the graduands on their successful training and induction.
The command cautioned residents of the state against spreading false news.
