He said the police arrested multiple suspects linked to banditry and kidnapping operations across the North-Central region.
The police spokesperson said operatives arrested one Ruwa Ginyo of Gidan-Madi and two accomplices believed to be key brokers and financiers of a notorious bandits’ group.
Ms Grace Iringe-Koko said the attack occurred at a filling station in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, on November 12, 2025.
The state CP directed the SCID to investigate the case meticulously and ensure that it was charged to court on time.
He urged citizens to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperative with security agencies.
The police said the bandits stormed the village at about 4:30 p.m. on Monday and shot sporadically.
The operation was launched as part of a renewed, intensified effort to combat insurgents, bandits and other criminal elements across Kaduna and its environs, the police said.
He said that additional patrols, stop-and-search points, response units and security posts had been activated across the state.
The commissioner ordered the deployment of additional security resources, especially in educational institutions across the state.
He praised the military, police and the SSS for recent deployments in Kwara.
