The Ekiti government has warned against the risky consumption of ‘ponmo’, smoked meat and bushmeat.
“Ponmo is cheap and demand for it is high and with how expensive things are, people don’t have a choice,” she said.
“With consultation and legislation, this principal raw material for the leather industry will be rescued from our kitchen and redirected to a more productive leather enterprise.”
