No fewer than 60 suspected illegal miners were apprehended at the site, said Defence spokesman Musa Danmadami on Thursday.
The minister dismissed the sercurity alert from the U.S. and UK as “click bait”.
Mr Danmadami said troops of Operation Whirl Punch had sustained the momentum to deny terrorists freedom of action in their joint operation area.
The minister said “the government is taking the job of security very seriously.”
The attack came hours after the terrorist sect threatened to abduct and kill President Muhammadu Buhari and Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
