Mr Shettima, also the chairman of NCP, explained that Mr Tinubu’s choice of the council’s membership was a reminder of what it could achieve with fresh ideas.
On the constitution of a new board for the commission, the vice-president stressed the need to urgently constitute the body to facilitate the operations of the NBC.
Vice President Kashim Shettima and cabinet members are already in the council chambers for the meeting.
Mr Shettima hinted about the possibility of engaging the private sector in tackling floods and other natural disasters.
He applauded the Gavi alliance’s contributions to improving vaccine coverage in Nigeria.
