Tijaniyya worldwide prays for peace, stability in Nigeria

The Supreme Council of Tijaniyya Worldwide has prayed for peace, unity and prosperity in Nigeria and for the physical and spiritual wellbeing of President Bola Tinubu.
The council also condoled with Mr Tinubu over the death of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, former leader of the Tijaniyya Islamic organisation in Nigeria, who passed away in November 2025.
The Khalifa of Tijaniyya from Algeria, Sheikh Ali Bin Arabi, delivered the condolence message to the Nigerian leader at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Friday.
The delegation comprised representatives from Algeria, Nigeria and Senegal, representing over 400 million members of the organisation worldwide, as well as members of the Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi Foundation.
Mr Arabi acknowledged the longstanding spiritual, social and economic ties between Nigeria and Algeria.
“We will continue to pray for sustenance of the spiritual relationship between Nigeria and Algeria,” Mr Arabi said.
In his response, Mr Tinubu thanked the delegation for the condolence visit and their prayers for Nigeria.
“We miss our father, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi. He was a beloved father and a great leader.”
Mr Tinubu also commended the Tijaniyya Movement for its contributions to Islam and spiritual development across Africa and beyond.
“I respect you for what you are doing for Islam across Africa and the whole world. May God continue to guide you,” he said.
Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi passed away on November 26, 2025, at the age of 98.
