He added that there was need for all well-meaning sons and daughters of Igbo land to support his emergence.
Mr Ogbonnia said Mr Obiozor “spoke emotionally about the candidacy of Peter Obi” at the last National Executive Committee meeting of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation.
The youth wing said the parent body uses them to resolve conflicts in the South-East region, but relegate them during important events.
Mr Buhari called on Imo people and other Igbos to maintain peace.
The governor said it was “shameful that these criminals deployed their malicious attack on an innocent man”.
“The Igbo nation is renowned for being agents of development, not destruction.”
Mr. Obiozor polled 304 votes to defeat his closest rival, Valentine Oparaocha, who polled 15 votes.
