The PRP governorship candidate and other party members on Friday in Sokoto announced their official exit from the party to APC.
Patience Ndidi Key, a presidential aspirant in the June 5 primaries of the PRP, is challenging the emergence of Mr Abiola as the party’s candidate.
The organisation lamented how politicians have continued to prioritise vote-buying instead of embracing issue-based campaigns, ahead of the poll.
“I have gone back to the history of Nigeria to look at the party that truly represents Nigeria.
The PDP got 86 out of the 159 votes for chairman, while APC secured 62 votes, APP had 1, ZLP 5, PRP 4, and 3 abstentions.
Mr Sani tendered his resignation letter via a letter, a copy of which was obtained by Peoples Gazette. Reports say he is on his way to PDP.
