The NEMA DG also alerted the governor to the 2024 seasonal climate prediction and urged preparedness.
She added that government plans to expand its social register to accommodate and capture the IDPs in its various social interventions.
She said that the agency would continue to sensitise Nigerians on flood disasters and appealed to the people to heed the warnings so as to save lives and property.
The agency said the warning was as a result of the discharge of water from the Kainji and Jeba hydro dams located in the state.
“We also recovered over 100 motorcycles and cows in the last three days in Rafi, Wushishi and Mashegu.”
“The situation has reached crisis level. In fact, it’s a war situation that we have to confront without further delay,” the governor said.
Thirteen local government areas in the state are said to be currently benefiting from the programme.
