The coalition, which includes Atiku Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai, Peter Obi, and Kayode Fayemi, is now expected to challenge President Bola Tinubu and the APC at the 2027 elections.
His expulsion came days after his group, Omoluabi Progressives, announced its decision to exit the APC.
“We have seen worsening economic—even political and spiritual—conditions of Nigerians. You don’t need to be a nuclear scientist to know that,” said Mr Aregbesola.

“I don’t know why I wouldn’t associate myself publicly with a person like Aregbesola.’’
It’s the tragedy of the political elite enabled by the choices made by politicians, including members of Abubakar’s PDP, which also used to be Labour Party candidate Peter Obi’s home.
Mr Aregbesola stated this during a civic reception organised in his honour by Concerned Muslim Scholars and Clerics in South Western Nigeria on Sunday in Oyo town.
“APC is one in Osun and as far as I am concerned I do not know any splinter groups in insinuation.
Mr Shaibu described as unconvincing Mr Tinubu’s claim that he “felt the pains of Nigerians” after the abrupt and unplanned removal of petrol subsidy.
