Mr Wike said he had directed the lawmakers to do the needful and obey the president, saying, “I know they will not hesitate.”
Mojeed Owoade, who chaired the 11-man panel, said the Supreme Court’s judgement failed to address and explicitly state the position of the law on the defection.
“The governor and his team simply and deliberately acted Wednesday’s drama with a singular motive to tarnish the image of the assembly,” said Mr George.
The screening and confirmation conducted at Friday’s plenary followed a correspondence from Governor Siminalaye Fubara requesting rectification of the nominees.
The judge had, on January 31, issued a warrant for the arrest of Mr Ehie over his alleged involvement in the burning of part of Rivers Assembly.
The court adjourned until November 27 for hearing.
The Rivers House of Assembly has rescinded the ownership of 868 plots of land occupied by Daar Communications, founded by Raymond Dokpesi.
