The chief judge of Rivers, Simeon Chibuzor-Amadi, has announced that the annual vacation for judges of the Rivers State High Court will commence on July 20.
The judge adjourned the case until January 23, 2026, for the hearing of the motion.
The presiding judge, Okogbule Gbasam, held that there was no proof that the Martin Amaewhule-led lawmaker defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
However, the statement said the convicts committed the crime between March 2012 and February 2013 in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital.
Justice Nusirat Umar directed that the suspension of Mr Secondus as the party’s chairman be halted until the determination of the suit brought before it by the applicants.
