The Kaduna State Government gave updates on the security situation around the state on Sunday.
Governor Nasir El-Rufai has sent his condolence to families of the dead while wishing the injured quick recovery, Commissioner Samuel Aruwan said.
The incident occurred along the Badde-Ungwan Ayaba-Keffi road, where bandits attempted to abduct occupants of a commercial vehicle approaching from Abuja.
The government said the decision is sequel to advice by security agencies.
The state government confirmed the attack while condoling with the bereaved and the injured.
The seven people were killed within three days.
