The APC stated that Mr Tinubu’s assent to the electoral amendment bill reflected prudence in leadership.
The All Progressives Congress in Lagos on Wednesday congratulated former Deputy Governor Sarah Sosan on her 70th birthday.
The party described the figure as evidence of its growing grassroots strength and nationwide acceptance ahead of the next general elections.
“We understand the nightmare that the current wave of mass defections has unleashed on the opposition,” said the APC statement.
“The signs are unmistakable: what looms is not a formidable alternative, but an impending implosion,” said Seye Oladejo, APC spokesman in Lagos.
“Abubakar Atiku Abubakar’s decision to join the APC is a generational rebuke of recycled politics, expired ambitions, and the illusion of leadership without conviction,” APC said.
“He is actively involved in the complex and demanding work of statecraft, which includes policy coordination, security oversight, diplomatic engagements…,” said APC.
“National progress is better served by sincerity and accountability than apocalyptic political rhetoric,” said Mr Oladejo.
The APC noted that Nigeria could no longer run a modern economy on an archaic, fragmented, and oil-dependent tax structure.
According to him, political parties that shy away from reform, inevitably decay.
