Mr Oladejo urged citizens to remain calm and united despite the tension generated by recent attacks in parts of the country.
“Those who left Nigeria vulnerable through negligence, mismanagement, and incompetence should be the last to question a president who is doing what they never attempted,” he said.
“The security of our people is non-negotiable. The time for state police is not just ripe. It is overdue,” the APC stated.
The APC accused the former Anambra State governor of selective outrage.
Mr Oladejo also faulted what he described as a deliberate weakening of the security architecture.
The All Progressives Congress has commended President Bola Tinubu for defending Nigeria’s democracy by maintaining neutrality in Saturday’s Anambra governorship election.
Mr Oladejo said the outcome of the election reflected a decline in the Labour Party’s grassroots support and his Obedient Movement.
The APC spokesman said the First Lady had shown that governance could be humane, impactful, and inclusive.
“Peter Obi appears content only when Nigeria is under pressure, believing every challenge for the nation is an opportunity for his political resurrection,” said APC.
The APC described Mr Obi’s comment as “morally reprehensible” and unbecoming of someone who has consistently condemned corruption.
