He urged the state government to deploy operatives of the Amotekun Corps, the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to schools across the state.
The source told the Peoples Gazette, “Confirmed. They have been rescued unhurt.”
Mr Makinde stated that the surveillance missions carried out by officers of NAF had given his administration tremendous insights into what the ground troops were facing.
The ex-minister’s sister and nephews were abducted on Wednesday, June 3.
Mr Makinde said the decision was an additional measure to enhance security across the state.
Mr Makinde also called for ideas on long-term security reforms from the public after the rescue.
“When government officials came, they brought rice and money, but the parents rejected it, insisting all they wanted was the safe rescue of their children,” said the village chief.
The governor said, “The heart of a king is in the hands of God. The hearts of bandits are in the hands of God.”
The abducted staff and schoolchildren have now spent about 16 days in captivity.
Mrs Alamu’s plea comes 13 days after they were abducted.
