President Muhammadu Buhari has announced a minor cabinet reshuffle as he swears in seven new ministers in the State House, Abuja, on Wednesday.
Mohammed Abdullahi, Minister of Environment, said that the project would last for five to six years.
What we do not yet have is a consensus among African nations that we must do this for ourselves and that the wealthy nations must help finance our efforts because they will benefit, too.
The minister said the aim for the tree planting was to also protect biodiversity and increase national forest cover.
