Mr Edafe said the suspects specialised in robbing and defrauding unsuspecting victims of valuables such as phones, motorcycles, and jewelry.
Mr Edafe said that the suspects confessed to being members of the Eiye confraternity.
Mr Edafe said the suspects were neutralised on Wednesday, when operatives raided their hideout on the Ughelli-Patani Expressway.
Mr Edafe said further investigation led to the arrest of two other suspects in Mosogar, adding that they were suspected to be members of the Aiye confraternity.
The state police spokesperson said that the suspects and exhibits were in police custody
Mr Edafe said the suspects were neutralised on March 9 during a gun duel with the operatives of the CP-Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT).
“When the police are through with their investigations, we will update you with the necessary information,” he said.
Mr Edafe said that the exhibits were hidden inside the roof of the suspect’s one-room apartment.
Mr Edafe stated that N2 million was recovered from the suspects.
The police spokesperson said six persons were injured, 19 persons rescued and one still missing.
