He said the suspects, whose ages range between 20 and 30, allegedly confessed to being members of a secret cult group.
Mr Ndukwe urged residents using public transportation to travel only with reputable transport companies operating from recognised motor parks.
The command’s spokesman, SP Daniel Ndukwe, said police operatives recovered two firearms and seven ammunition from the suspects.
The CP commended the operatives for their prompt and professional response.
The police stated that the victim reported that the suspect robbed her at gunpoint at Orie-Mba Akpugo Market in Akpugo community of Nkanu West Local Government Area of the state.
The command’s spokesman, SP Daniel Ndukwe, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
The spokesman urged citizens of the state to remain law-abiding, vigilant and supportive of the police.
Mr Ndukwe described the incidents as unfortunate and consoled with individuals and families who lost their loved ones in the accidents.
The police command in Enugu says it has detained three suspected criminals and recovered firearms, a motorcycle, and other incriminating items in separate operations.
The police have nabbed 18-year-old Ikediekpere Obodoagu for kidnapping and murdering his five-year-old second cousin, Wisdom Obodoagu.
