Mr Aki argued that Section 30 of the Criminal Code and Section 39 of the Penal Code clearly establish that a child of that age cannot legally consent to sexual intercourse.
The convener of the Vanguard for Judicial Independence, Douglas Ogbankwa, said that money was often paid to secure bail in spite of the ‘bail is free’ inscription at police stations.
The activists, who are also lawyers, warned the public to desist from sexual offences and stay cautious during the period.
