When Bola Tinubu assumed office in May 2023, he embraced a neoliberal economic agenda built around market liberalisation, subsidy removal, currency devaluation, and fiscal austerity.
He said all the winners were duly elected in line with party guidelines.
The delegation was led by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.
“Is it supposed to be the duty of the president to help organise the opposition?” stated Sunday Dare, Mr Tinubu’s spokesman.
The minister reminded members that the APC must continue to uphold strong internal democratic values.
The visit is expected to culminate in the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
On Tuesday, Francis Waive, an APC member representing Ughelli North/South/Udu federal constituency in Delta State, presented the motion.
Mr Dare said, “I can assure you that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a renowned democrat, will do what is right, but it will not be in isolation of the realities of our country.”
Mr Tinubu instructed the Nigerian Air Force to expand air surveillance in the innermost parts of forests in Kwara.
“By making imported fuel less competitive, the government is tilting the market in favour of local refineries such as Dangote and other modular plants,” said Mr Dare.
