The Zamfara chapter of PDP has commended the Federal High Court, Abuja Division, for upholding the party’s position on its national secretary.
“Today, after a long period of reflection, we have decided to leave the PDP and join the APC,” Governor Peter Mbah declared.
Mr Damagum said NEC received the resolution of the South-East General Executive regarding the national secretary position.
“PDP is the only party where you can feel peaceful; you can express your opinion,” Mr Damagum said.
The ongoing NWC meeting is chaired by the party’s National Chairman, Umar Damagum.
PDP said rescheduling the meeting earlier fixed for March 13 to a new date would allow the party to, among others, conclude pending zonal, state, LGA and ward congresses.
The BoT said that the position was in obedience to the judgment of the Court of Appeal.
The PDP BoT reached the decision after it adopted the report of its committee led by Kabiru Turaki, on the party’s national secretary tussle.
He said that as a law-abiding party, the PDP would comply with the High Court and the Court of Appeal order affirming Mr Udeh-Okoye as the national secretary.
Mr Danagum advised those who participated in the poll to follow legal means in seeking redress.
