The police command in Jigawa has confirmed a tanker explosion at a filling station in Dutse metropolis.
Mr Mbah commiserated with the families of the victims, describing the accident as “unfortunate”.
The governor said the incident was worrisome.
The accident came hours after a fire razed a shopping complex in Akure.
The tanker driver lost control near Khadija University and exploded, said the police.
The tanker driver was attempting to divert to another lane when it caught fire at about 4:45 p.m.
The incident happened a few kilometres from the Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital and the University of Port Harcourt.
“There were three persons in the tanker, but two were killed while one other person was seriously injured.”
