He reaffirmed LASTMA’s dedication to preserving lives and promoting safe road habits across Lagos.
He added that the driver was subsequently conveyed to the General Hospital, Ile-Epo, for urgent medical intervention.
He stressed that such offences are punishable under the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law, 2018.
Mr Giwa emphasised that all commercial vehicle drivers must restrict their operations to designated bus stops and terminals.
He said that officers from the Area F Police Division took custody of both vehicles for further investigation.
Mr Bakare-Oki said LASTMA operatives promptly cordoned off the accident scene, neutralising potential escalation, particularly the perilous prospect of fuel scooping.
Mr Bakare-Oki underscored the need for both commercial and private motorists to comply with officially sanctioned speed limits to avert needless road fatalities.
According to him, such motorists will face stringent enforcement measures.
The general manager also shared operational statistics for 2024, highlighting the number of vehicular breakdowns successfully managed by LASTMA.
Mr Giwa added that LASTMA removed 120 illegally parked private cars and commercial buses from bridges stretching from Ebute-Ero to Ejalonibu.
