He stressed that education remained the cornerstone of his transformation agenda.
The initiative, “Digital Community of Practice,” aims to build a community of digitally empowered teachers.
He said the directive was in line with government policy to strengthen professionalism in the teaching profession
The governor said this was furtherance to enacting the Harmonised Retirement Age for Teachers by the Benue State House of Assembly.
He, therefore, urged state and federal educational quality assurance teams to ensure teachers have the required qualifications and skills to teach.
The quality of education was said to be why Nigerian professionals go outside the country.
Ms Ogboso praised the conduct of the exercise as very smooth because TRCN started the exam in 2017 and kept improving on the processes.
They are essential players in promoting quality education. They are advocates for and catalysts of change,” said the TRCN boss.
According to him, good school discipline depends on skilled and properly trained teachers rather than students’ bad behaviour.
NUT said the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) remains the only regulatory body that can set competency tests for teachers.
