WHO says adopting a One Health approach that recognises people’s health is closely connected to the health of animals.
Volker Türk quoted the number during a meeting of the UN’s Human Rights Council in Geneva.
He added that some healthcare facilities were also looted, as some were used for military purposes.
The WHO had said the medicine could cause kidney damage, two Indian officials said on Thursday.
WHO figures on Wednesday showed that some 98 per cent of the reported cases involved men who have sexual contact with multiple other men.
“We are outraged that attacks on health care are continuing. Attacks on health care are a violation of international humanitarian law,” said the WHO chief.
The messages that parents and health workers receive are often misleading, scientifically unsubstantiated.
The global health body says if countries use its strategies and tools, “we can end the acute phase of the pandemic this year.”
WHO Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said the burden and effect of air pollution is felt mostly by middle and low-income countries.
China has been widely blamed for the outbreak of the disease.
