The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has begun the registration of unemployed people in Bayelsa.
NDE says it has disbursed N85 million in loans to 494 beneficiaries under its Environmental Beautification Training Scheme (EBTS).
The beneficiaries will be granted a soft loan of N100,000 each at an interest rate of nine per cent under the 50 per cent capital budget released for the 2022 financial year.
The participants were trained in blacksmithing, bead stringing, pottery, tie and dye, wood carving, interior decoration, and cosmetology, among others.
Officers who supervised the projects, including the House of Reps member who facilitated them refused to comment.
