Mr Tinubu, represented by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Bernard Doro, underscored the importance of the revised policy.
The commissioner said that out of the 138,154 refugees and asylum seekers in Nigeria, 32,746 were awaiting registration.

Mr Ahmed said that through advocacy and proper guidance, irregular migration would reduce in the country
He noted that about 40 per cent of the farmlands in Maiduguri had been submerged ahead of harvest season.
“The project will support 300 IDPs in Plateau with inputs, cash grants and labour costs,” he said.
One of the deportees, Arinze Stone, said the Turkish authority arrested and detained him in the camp for about six months.
Mr Ahmed explained that the crisis in Sudan made the voluntary return of the 29 Nigerian emigrants necessary.
“We can ensure that our youths benefit from the migration process through regular means.’’
