Mr Marwa enjoined operatives of the agency to continue with the ongoing efforts to end drug abuse and trafficking nationwide.
Mr Babafemi said a team of NDLEA officers, acting on credible intelligence, had arrested one of the kingpin’s couriers.
Mr Babafemi said this came on the heels of the seizure of 10,000 pills of tramadol from another suspect on Wednesday, July 9.
NDLEA operatives on patrol along Mokwa-Jebba Road on Thursday, May 15, intercepted a Toyota Carina car with registration number AGL 945 BK.
Mr Babafemi said the explosives were concealed in a sack.
The police spokesperson said that the suspects confessed to the commission of the offence.
The NDLEA commander said those arrested included 839 males and 90 females.
The NDLEA spokesman said large quantities of opioids, tramadol, Rohypnol and codeine-based syrup were concealed in body compartments of the vehicle.
Mr Babafemi said NDLEA operatives, supported by men of the army, stormed three camps inside the Ise-Ekiti forest reserve in the Ise/Orun Local Government Area of the state.
NDLEA has intercepted multiple consignments of illicit drugs concealed in tins of Cerelac baby food and clothes going to the U.S. and UK.
