President-elect Donald Trump has nominated TV producer Mark Burnett as a special envoy to the United Kingdom.
Mr Trump, during his campaign, vowed to deport en mass illegal immigrants back to their home countries, labelling them security threats to America.
After a series of legal battles and a failed assassination attempt, Mr Trump will be nominated as GOP presidential candidate for the third straight time during the four-day convention.
“Look, I wouldn’t have picked Vice-President Trump (sic) to be vice-president,” said U.S. President Joe Biden.
Mr Trump, who had already launched his own social network called Truth Social, had ignored Twitter until now.
Mr Trump’s reinstatement comes weeks after Facebook’s announcement that it would restore the former president’s access following a two-year ban.
TikTok was not listed among the rival social media platforms that would be prohibited by the platform, though.
