Governor Aminu Masari says he spent N30 billion to renovate 7,000 schools and N15 billion to build drainage in Katsina.
The Kebbi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) says it has registered 857,185 students in primary and junior secondary schools.
Reacting to insinuations that N110 billion accessed by states as intervention funds has not been utilised, UBEC said N30.8 billion was not accessed as of June 6.
In its second phase, the project would benefit six states, namely, Lagos, Anambra, Kano, Nasarawa, Bauchi, and Edo.
The funds are to support the schools with infrastructure, learning materials and other needs.
A National Personnel Audit found a shortage of 277, 537 teachers at basic education level.
The goal is to equip the head teachers with the necessary skills for effective and efficient management of basic education in the state.
